NANLITE Unveils FC-300B and FC-500B LED Spotlights: A Quick Overview

In the ever-evolving world of lighting technology for videography, NANLITE has stepped into the spotlight once again with the introduction of their latest offerings: the FC-300B and FC-500B bi-color LED spotlights. These fixtures, with power ratings of 350W and 520W, respectively, bring versatility and adaptability to the forefront, allowing cinematographers and video professionals to fine-tune their lighting setups. Bi-Color Brilliance:

Despite their names, the FC-300B and FC-500B lights shine in their ability to adjust color temperatures seamlessly, ranging from a warm 2700K to a cool 6500K. This flexibility ensures that these lights can adapt to various lighting scenarios, providing a good solution for those who don't require full-color features.

Bowens Mount Compatibility:

Both fixtures come equipped with an industry-standard Bowens mount at the front, allowing camera teams to effortlessly attach a variety of lighting modifiers they may already have in their arsenal. Additionally, an umbrella hole provides further flexibility for those aiming to travel light.

Illumination:

NANLITE claims remarkable light output for these fixtures. The FC-300B, when paired with its included 45° reflector and set at 5600K, boasts an output of 37,340 lux at a distance of one meter (approximately 3 feet). On the other hand, the FC-500B, under the same conditions, reaches a maximum output of 65,640 lux at one meter. Furthermore, the FC-500B offers precise dimming control in increments as small as 0.1%.

Color Quality and Control:

According to NANLITE, both lights excel in color rendition, with impressive CRI/TLCI averages of 96 and 98, respectively. TM-30 Rf averages 95, and TM-30 Rg averages 101/100, ensuring accurate and vibrant colors for video projects.

User-Friendly Interface:

The rear panel of the FC-300B and FC-500B is equipped with a 2-inch screen, a USB port for potential firmware updates, and intuitive controls. Two buttons grant access to the menu and various modes, while two knobs facilitate easy adjustment of settings and navigation through the menu. These fixtures also include 12 built-in special effects, offering creative possibilities such as CCT Loop, INT Loop, Flash, Pulse, Storm, TV, Paparazzi, Candle/Fire, Bad Bulb, Firework, Explosion, and Welding.



Control Options:

Both lights feature built-in 2.4G and Bluetooth modules, supporting Nanlink APP control for wireless operation. Additionally, a wired DMX/RDM connector is conveniently located next to the power input, offering more complex and precise group control options.

Power and Fan Control:

While the FC-300B and FC-500B come with an external power supply connected via a locking PowerCon connector, it's worth noting that direct power via V-Mount or Gold-Mount batteries requires a third-party 48V power adaptor. These fixtures incorporate built-in fans with four control modes: Smart, Full, Low speed, and Off. In Smart mode, NANLITE claims an average noise level of only 23/27dBA.

Pricing and Availability:

The NANLITE FC-300B is currently available for $479 USD, while the FC-500B is priced at $699 USD. Both lights are packaged in foam cases and include a 45° reflector, the power supply, and power cables.
