Sennheiser Announces the Audio Evolution Wireless G4
Video production professionals and filmmakers alike would be pretty familiar with the EW-G2 and G3 wireless microphone systems; and building on this reliable line of audio products, Sennheiser just released the Evolution Wireless G4. This new kit promises to improve on what is already a dependable piece of gear for videographers, filmmakers and broadcast professionals for years.
Our video production company here in Austria has been using the Rodelink Filmmaker Kit for a while now during our shoots, which is a great piece of equipment. When it comes to the biggest bang for your buck, I still believe it’s hard to beat especially for solo videographers on a budget. However, the new Sennheiser Evolution Wireless G4 seems extremely interesting and our video crew will definitely give it a test-drive once released.
Sennheiser claims the Evolution Wireless G4 has better audio quality, longer operating time, faster set up time and a larger transmission range. Four products (in different series) have been announced by Sennheiser, of which the 100P and 500P series were developed for broadcast, video production and film.
100P Series
The 100P is targeted for video production, documentary, ENG and mobile videography. It relies on broadcast quality sound, familiar easy to use interface, the same sturdy metal housing as the EW-G3, and a transmission range of up to 100 meters / 330 feet.

500P Series

The Evolution Wireless G4 is set to be released in April 2018 and can be pre-ordered on B&H. Prices at this moment are set to $799 for the 100P series and $1,295 for the 500P.
