Viltrox Snowpeak BV-99 V-mount Battery Released

Viltrox, a chinese manufacturer usually known for making affordable cinema and photography lenses just released the Snowpeak BV-99, a V-mount lithium battery with a capacity 99Wh (14.8V/6700mAh) geared towards video professionals.

The Snowpeak BV-99 is a compact and versatile battery solution for content creators and videographers. It measures at 50x75x115mm, weighs 550g, and has a small front LCD display to monitor remaining battery life and voltage.

With its 99Wh 6700mAh/14.8V lithium-ion battery and bi-directional 45W USB-C PD input/output, the Snowpeak BV-99 can work as a power bank and allows video shooters to charge their laptops, tablets and smartphones. Of course, video professionals can also use it to charge lights, cameras, accessories and wireless transmitters.

The Viltrox Snowpeak BV-99 has two D-Tap input (16.8V/5A) and output ports (11-16.8V / 10A), as well as a USB Type-A output (5V/3A; 9V/2A; 12V/1.5A) on the top of the battery. According to Vitrox, the Snowpeak BV-99 can be fully charged in 2,5 hours when using the USB-C port, and has numerous protection features such as: Short-circuit, over-current, Temperature, over-power, over-discharge, electromagnetic field and more.

Videographers and filmmakers have a ton of 95-98Wh V-mount battery options on the market to choose from, all having different features, sizes and price ranges. At the end of the day, each cameraman or video production crew needs to figure out for themselves which features are more important for their particular video production needs.
